Psychiatric
Evaluations

Understanding what you are experiencing is the first step toward an appropriate treatment plan.

A psychiatric evaluation is a detailed conversation about your current concerns, symptoms, history, health, functioning, and goals.

At Oberidon Health, evaluations are designed to develop a thoughtful clinical picture and discuss appropriate next steps with you.

What we may discuss

  • Current symptoms and concerns

  • Previous diagnoses or treatment

  • Current and past medications

  • Medical history and allergies

  • Sleep and appetite

  • Family psychiatric history

  • Substance use

  • Trauma and significant life experiences

  • Work, school, relationships, and daily functioning

  • Safety concerns

  • Treatment goals

What Happens After the Evaluation?

Your provider will discuss clinical impressions, recommendations, and reasonable treatment options. Depending on your needs, recommendations may include medication, psychotherapy or counseling with an appropriate professional, lifestyle or behavioral interventions, laboratory or medical follow-up, additional assessment, or referral to another level or type of care.

Important: A psychiatric evaluation does not guarantee that a diagnosis will be made or that medication—including a controlled medication—will be prescribed.
